Wanting to remove the gear shift lever from my 1950 ZA. Have transmission case cover off. What is the recommended way to remove the shifter ball SPRING so you can separate the shift lever from the transmission cover? Thank you.

Just pry out one side of the spring and unscrew it. More than likely it will pop out when you do it. There is a washer or wearplate at the top of the spring.
