Hello Again!I have some more questions about this tractor.As I have no operators manual to tell me , Does this tractor have some sort of "live" PTO? The person I bought it from said that it kinda sorta does by some means of a differential brake??Sounds funny to me. My other question,I have found a large amount of diesel fuel in the crankcase oil,Is it from the injector pump seal? if so is it a big deal to change?It seems to be happenning even when the tractor is not running.
Any help is appreciated

m and gear co. of gibson city, illinois made an
after market pto kit that was installed in the left brake housing. i have one of these on a ihc farmall model m and it works ok. i might know where there is a manual for this. for reason the handle could hav broken-off or was removed. i have seen them brake.

My U diesel had the same problem and it was a $6.00 seal on the transfer pump that was bad. This seal prevents diesel fuel from running directly through the pump and into the crankcase. If I remember right the transfer pump comes right off with three small bolts. Very easy to repair. There may be other reasons for this to happen but this was what was causing my problem.

If it has live pto there will be a long lever on the left side attached to the left brake housing. Not a true live pto more of just a braking of the diff. As far as diesel in oil there is only a couple of ways for this to happen. The pump seal or possibly a crack in the housing behind where the three filters mount to the block.
