GVI oil pressure

I just bought a GVI a few weeks ago and finally had a chance to try and use it today. But when I started it, it only had about 10-15 pounds of oil pressure. My I & T manual said to turn the oil pressure regulator to increase or decrease pressure. This did not have any effect on the oil pressure. What else might be wrong?

Thanks for the help.

Could be one of a number of things. Poor, diluted oil, change it. Stuck regulator piston or broken spring, remove the regulator assembly and inspect. Poor gauge, replace it at least temporarily, with a reliable gauge. Of course, if this isn't a new condition, worn out main bearings or a worn out oil pump. I've experienced all of these things at one time or another.

I got a UB gas about 2 years ago. 20 Lbs oil pressure. When I went to change oil and filter there was a lot of thick sludge in filter housing and at drain plug and around oil pump screen. I cleaned that out, put in new filter and oil. Oil pressure increased 5 lbs.and had good range of adjustment.
