My grandpa had a 4 star and my dad thinks it would be fun to find one.Grandpa said to get one with the better rearend is there a ser# break in there.Well i cant find one around but a frend has a 5 star lp that is a basket case that i can get fairly cheap .Is the 5 star better or should i keep looking for the 4 star.

I live in south east Mn .I"m not in a big hurry ,thinking of looking for the right tractor.The 5 star is in Ia.Thanks for the replys

have no idea where you live or how big of a hurry you are but read the Heads up post below... we will have a real nice 4* Diesel and a fully restored 5* LP and 100's of good MM

The 4-Star was an improved version of the 445. The 5-Star was a totally new tractor hence had issues that needed to be worked out which was done in the M-5. Outside plumbing of the hydraulics which became avaiable on later 4-Stars and M-5's was a major improvement.
