Does anyone know what they might think is the oldest "RTN" Moline still running? I know the first serial number was #402801. I"m wondering what the would be the oldest surviving "RTN". What do you guys think?

I've posted a photo in the Tractor and Help Identify galleries. -As the tractor has very unusual fenders.

My RTN sn is 402942N. Mine has no fenders, which most early R's didn't. Mine has hydraulics and a cultivator. I need a gas tank for this R. Also has no electrics. I would suspect that the fenders in the picture were made from an R and Z. Looks like a nice job. Of the 8 R's I have only 4 have fenders.

We have 1941 RTN 407025N. It's the 31st one built in 1941 and adding in 1940 production of 200 units makes it the 231st one made. This assumes there were no 1939-40 RT tractors made with the single front end as their serial numbers don't break out front end type.

It's a starting point so lets see who has one older.

Something I didn't think of, on the MM page, there's a link to the MM Registry. Brian Rukes put that together initally to register all the Rs, it expanded to include lots of models. Might try there also.

What's the serial # of the one you have? That'd be a starting point.

According to my book the model R was made since 1939 starting at 400001 that would make yours the 2800 produced. Being a 1940 model The only problem is that includes the rtu, rts, rti, rtn, rte. I think we will have to have a registry of all Moline collectors. I think you might have the oldest RTN. I have an RTU and an unknown RTI. Here is a picture of my unknown RTI. My rtu is a 1951 model. So come on all Moline collectors dig the serial numbers out.
