I have aquired 2- ZAS with a Waterloo tag just curious how many of these were sold by waterloo?

I have a 1939 MM GT Waterloo. It has the brass tag on the left hood panel. Decals are still visible from the hood and down each fender.

Roger,
It's unknown at this time how many tractors were sold by Waterloo of Canada. Moline shipped incomplete "knockdown" tractors to Waterloo in Canada and Waterloo completed the assembly and sold them. The Waterloo tractors shared serial numbers with the tractors sold in the States.

Roger,
My research shows Waterloo versions were sold from at least the 30's through the early 50's. There are Waterloo versions of some early Twin City tractors. Waterloo was cast into the top radiator tank where Twin Cities or TC/MM would be for a tractor sold in the States. The highest concentration of Waterloos seems to be in the mid 40's to early 50's though. I have a 47 ZTS, 49 RTS and 50 RTS that all have Waterloo tags and decals still visible. I imagine some of our Canadian MM friends out there can shed some more light on when Waterloo stopped selling MM tractors and equipment.

Brian, I have two ZTS's one is a 1951 but the other one has no tags but it is a later version. This one has disk brakes and the top of the transmission is different. The waterloo sticker is a metal stick-on.attached to the hood. There could be other differences, has the same front and fixed rear axels, Any Ideas?

Roger,
1947 was the last year for the ZTS. Do you have a ZAS instead? ZTS has red grill like model R tractor. ZAS has flat bar grill made of 2 halves split down the center. ZTS usually has full flat top rear fenders where ZAS has clamshell fenders tilted rearward. ZAS has cast top and bottom radiator tanks with a bolt in core. ZTS has soldered core radiator surrounded by a sheet metal shroud that also houses the red grill.

Waterloo used different id tags through the years and sometimes no tags-only decals. They seemed to use a small brass tag riveted to the hood side up by the radiator in the late 40's to early 50's.
