Looking for info on 50s-60s MMs used to mount Hilift or telescopic forklit rigs. Lull and Sky Track may have been the suppliers. Found (collector) Rea in Pa has two examples. Based on 445 or MO 400? thx

Thanks BMG1 and TRK,This is of great help...and if any photos are available by email or I pay the processing, let me know. My email address is [email protected] I will try to look up the west brick buggy co... and related venues. I just joined the MMCI club. I live in Seattle, so not so near the MM center of the universe, but Yesterdays tractors is located only 60 miles away in Chimacum Wa. I understand! Buy you'all a beer some time. thx dae

Dave,
I'm in SE Michigan so I'll have to take a rain check on the cold one but I'll send you some pics of our Brick Buggy.

Dave51,
What would you like to know? Glen Rhea has 2 fine examples as you've seen. I also have an early Skytrak based on the 445 tractor. It does not telescope like the later models. These are commonly referred to as Brick Buggies. There were several different hi-lift styles made over the years. I believe one of Glen's is the type with the radiator mounted behind the engine with a jackshaft running along side the engine to drive the fan which is mounted over the clutch bellhousing in front of the rear radiator. This machine has one lifting arm and is a nice compact machine. Some of the later lifts were telescoping and were based on the Jet Star series tractors or more commonly were special "packages" from the Moline factory sold to outfitters and other companies for use in their specialized construction equipment.

I stopped and looked at one of those loaders in lexington NC. the tag on the loader frame actually read something like "West Brick Buggy Co." I did not read the tractor tag, but the tractor was probably a Big M0 500 because it had the 4star hood and grille. (I got pictures). I think the front axle was not MM, more like from a heavy truck with 20" tires.

I think there was a definite kinship with the later 'Skytrac' loaders as the frames both use a third hydraulic cylinder on them. I think it pushes the bucket back down because the long lift cylinders are single acting. I also surmise that the low hood/rear fan and radiator system uses a lot of fan drive components that are found on the brown Uni-harvestors. (Fine in the winter, but could pass up operating one on a hot day.)
