Can anyone answer the following questions on a model R minneapolis moline??
#1--does it have a foot or hand clutch?
#2---what is its top speed in road gear?
#3--would it be a good machine for a long tractor ride?

The speed may depend on the rear wheel size. I think some came with 36" and some with 38" wheels. My neighbor has one with 38" wheels. I clocked him doing 15 mph in the field pulling a hay rake. Was not using the rake at the time.:)

I Took My Restored 1946 R On A Two Day Tractor Drive Through The Many Covered Bridges In Parke County Indiana This Summer, 42 Miles 1st Day And Over 30 Miles The 2nd Day. It Did Great, Used About 2/3 Tank Of Gas. It Did Ride A Little Rough Though, Seat Bottomed Out All The Time, I Have An Idea On How To Make A Softer Ride For Next Time. Gene

Hello,

This size tractor CAN be rough, because tire size, get the optional comfort ride seat frame and have a extra thick firm seat pad made for it. Another trick is to put water in rear tires, really soften's up the holes in road. Relax and have fun.

New seat cushions are available from Speer Cushion Co., Holyoke, CO. 1-800-525-8156. I"ve bought a set for my RTI. Perfect match!

Pete, 1. Hand clutch

2. 13.1 MPH 3. Runs fast enough but is a little rough riding. I have seen several on Tractor Rides.
