445 Power Steering leak

Still working out the bugs on the donated 445. We've got a hydraulic leak at the power steering unit. It is leaking out the rear of the unit, anything I should look for? it's leaking out of the o-ring area at the rear of the unit.

ALSO, is it possible to see the governor by removing the "inspection/oil pan" on the left side of the tractor?

The steering pistons are on either end of a rack gear that helps turn the sector gear that is connected to the vertical shaft coming out the bottom that turns the wheels. You can see where the cylinder tops are-That is where the tubes from the tubing that runs from the steering gearbox itself to the power steering control valve. (If this makes any sense.)

There is only supposed to be 90wt. gear oil in the steering gearbox.

You probably need to get an I/T manual. It will tell you how to disassemble the gearbox and how to re-time the gears when you put it back together so the rack gear with pistons will be centered in its bores when the wheels are straight ahead.

You can see at least part of the governor through the side cover-but all you will probably be able to do from there is look at it.
