Recently I was talking to a good friend in Washington state and he mentioned at one time he had a Minn. Moline track hoe with a 4 in 1 bucket on the front and a hoe on the back. (He also said he got tired of looking at it and buried it in a big hole in the back field!). I have not seen it and cannot find any pictures of one. Anyone else heard of one of these?

I know Insley used MM power units in their excavators. Let us know what you find.

I have never seem a MM track-hoe but MM did sell power units to many different equipment manufactures. There is at least one picture I recall in the Merchandizer that showed a large hoe but it was on tires (If my memory is good.) If it was truly a MM built machine, it was likely a Motrac or 2 Star crawler with the loader and hoe features. I have never seen a 4 in 1 bucket on a MM crawler but they may have done it.

Go to the photo gallery on this webpage and search on Motrac or 2 Star. There are other places that have pictures as well. With those images, your friend might be able to determine if it was a MM crawler or another manufacture"s piece with a MM power unit.

I"ll see if I can find the Merchadizer that had that picture in it and post it for you to see.

There were two different Gradall Hoes shown in the Merchandizers I have. One on tires and one on tracks. Niether picture showned any kind of front bucket.

Keep us posted. It would be neat to hear what it was/is. Even though it is buried.
