Does anyone know if a 220 motor out of a 302 will fit in a ZB. we were told that they were put in some from the factory.

Seems to me you're talking about a "flathead" 220. That would be a 206 with a 3 3/4" bore. The ones in the military I believe had hydraulic lifters, don't have one, but if I'm wrong, someone will correct me. I have a 220 in a '37 JTU which came to me with the 186 motor, it'll pull 3x14" anywhere if I can pile enough weight on it. John

The 220 motor came long after Z production ended. Installing one into a Z takes a little creativity on to plumb up the radiator but it can be done. Not certain if there are any issues with the flywheel and clutch.

I've Been collecting MMs for 16 years and never heard 302s (or overhead valve 206s for that matter) were "dealer installed" in ZBx. This would require special lower radiator tank and special hood. The only one I have seen with a late style engine had plug in original lower tank outlet and partition welded in opposite side so outlet could mount there.

Better have your facts straight if you "pull" it or someone will nail your hide to the wall. . .

Well what I was trying to say is the simple fact that the factory did not do it! If it happened in MM facility it was a dealer repowering one, and I am not stating it was a option or any part of it, but if someone had one early on that way that some dealers did repower jobs small bell 800's in vista's etc..... get my point!

I'm thinking the military 220 (or was it 226?) engine used in the Z(A) military tractors was basically the same engine as your ZB, except 3-3/4 bore. I am pretty sure Welters 417-498-6496, or Everett 740-922-3335 (If he answers the phone) can help you come up with overbore pistons to make your ZB 206 into a 220 or bigger-like 3-3/4+.060.
