The engine seems to be working okay now. I just need to do a little fine tuning. I have a couple questions relating to that:

1. Where is the transmission fill plug? I found the check plug, but not the fill plug.

2. What are the gap clearances for the spark plugs and points?

3. Where's my best chance of finding an engine oil filter?

I'll buy a manual for it soon, but I want to give it a test run before winter sets in.

Thanks for giving a Minnie Mo newbie a hand!

I think the trans fill is the kind of round edged triangle shaped plate on top of the transmission. I think it is in between the shift lever and the seat. Not 100% sure, mabey someone else can confirm this for you.

Not sure about transmission fill

Spark plug gap .025 points gap .020

These are oil filter cross reference for older U and 53UB. Should be same for 53 UTS

WIX 51111
CarQuest 85111
NAPA 1111
Hastings LF401
Baldwin T55-M
Fram C152
WIX makes CarQuest and NAPA as indicated by similar numbers. I got the 85111 at local CarQuest for about $9.00 NAPA was 15.00. The package also included the gasket.
