I was wondering were i could get a 403 crank offset ground to fit 283 rods? Do they have to reharden the crank when they are done grinding?
Also what kind of compresion would this give me, I have 4206 heads.

If you are in North Central Ne, I am surprised you haven't heard of Jack Golder at Hooper, Ne.
Figure out what pistons you are going to use, Jack will need to know compression height. To figure compression you need to know bore and stroke

if you have the specs, or have the measurements/parts available to measure, about any machine shop can do the work. just look in the yellow pages and call some machine shops.

Offset grinding a 403 crank to accept the 283 rods is commonly done. You will likely need to narrow the rods as well. The bearing land on the 403 crank is narrower than a 283 crank's. With 4206 heads, you will be getting close to 11:1 compression. Depending on your plans, you might want to go with a lower compression head like the 4210 (about 9.5:1 compression).

Good Luck!

My understanding is you do not need to reharden the crack once you are done. Sinse, MM cranks are not surface hardened.
