I saw a ZAU a while back with an overhead vavle 206 engine in it. Was this a dealer update that was available? I have info about the MM engine swap into a JT, but was curious about this. If anyone has any information or has done this, i would appreciate any help. Thanks

Jake

Yes, Shinnery, that was me at Snyder, Tx.
If anyone is interested you can see my R in the August 2005 issue of MM Corresponder on page 4.

I forgot to add about the fan and radiator,I used the radiator from the 206 stationary engine, the fan set down lower on the 206 so I had the tin shop make a new shroud. It works great. The hood is another challenge if you use the 206 radiator.

I used the flywheel and clutch from the R. I used the starter ring and starter from the 206, the ring will be about 3/16 of an inch bigger than the R flywheel, I used spacers about every 3 inches all the way around and welded the ring to the flywheel. This will work on a ZTA also but not a ZTU because the ZTU flywheel is on with a nut. I got most of my information from Welters. Call them, they are very helpful and you can get Jahns 3.81 oversize pistons from them as well.

My question is what flywheel/clutch is used? A friend has a 220 stationary engine that he thought about putting in a ZA. That should be the same block bolt pattern I think. What has to be done for the cooling system?

Was this the one at the Snyder, Texas pulls this summer? I talked to you about it before the pulls started. A nice looking tractor.

I believe that is a home brew tractor. It should not be too hard to make the swap though.
