Hi everyone, I am looking at a A4T-1600 and it does not have the external oil pump.....is this a real problem or do they work ok with the internal system? I would be restoring this tractor but also use it in the field (150 acres cash crop). Any help is appreciated!

I would not be concerned if all I had was 150Acres. Just make sure the gears are not worn severely, and shim oil pressure for the lower specs, probably another good deal I have seen is a notch cut into the later internal pumps to jet a small stream of oil into the worm area of the pump and cam gear. You know you can set up Murphy fuel shut down to the injection pump if you have pump work done. Loss of oil pressure would kill engine.

From what dealers have told me the teeth on the cam's were soft. If it has many hours I would check the cam and at least the oil pump gear. External pump is better but expensive.
