rocker arm oiling vs plug color??

When i first got my 448 u up and running i ran colder plugs(champion d9,i dont like champion but thats all i could get at the time in the heat range i wanted)Compression is 195 per cyl...The plugs looked ash white grey after pulling her hard, hooked to some concrete slabs i have layin around..I thought they looked a little white..Went to my first pull and blew a headgasket on #2 cyl and drank a little water..I put on new headgaskets(#2 cyl and piston looked fine) and torked her down to 175 per nut..Ive have always had a little popping in the exhaust..thought the plugs were too cold so i crossrefrenced them to autolites and went up one heatrange...(autolite 386)less poping now and my plugs are looking better but only in # 3 n 4 cyls and my # 1 n 2 cyls look wet and a little oily...IS IT POSSIBLE that ill need to run a little colder plug in # 1 n 2 cyls to help burn off some of this??...HERES the bigger stumper..I PULLED the valve covers to readjust the valves after running a new motor awhile..The oilpressure in the back rocker is so so,itll drip oil where as the front rocker( on idle) will squrit oil 6 inches over the top of the rockers...is this normal????Is it possible that there is so much oil running up front that some is getting by the valvestems and into the cyls causing my plugs to look like they do????This motor dosent smoke or use oil...its new...Got any ideas??? THANX..STEVE

I can't really help but do know that apparently, too much oil is not a good thing. In the 504's there is a "metering" rod in the pipes that deliver the oil to the rockers. With the rods removed you will shoot oil several feet into the air which is apparently not good and thus the metering rod stuck in the pipe to restrict the flow. I had a situation where a rod was bent and the result was no oil and eventually a stuck intake valve. What I learned was that no oil is no good and the engineers must have figured too much oil was no good either.
