670 brake housing removal

I am taking the left brake housing out of a 670 to replace the seals. It looks like it should pull right out after brake components and nuts are removed. However, it hasn't budged. Is there a snap ring or other retainer that I can't see? Do I have to open the top of the rear case to get to something?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Bud

I have threaded one of the bolt holes the next size larger, inserted a piece of threaded rod thru a large bar and pulled on them with a nut. Sometimes they are very stubborn to get to moving. Don't pull too far, just enough to break it loose or you could break it. Usually after it breaks loose, you can stick a bar in one hole & the threaded rod in another & wiggle it out.

I am afraid that I didn't follow your instructions. It is the housing itself that I am trying to remove. I am assuming that the bull pinion shaft remains in place, and the housing pull out of the rear frame. I rigged up the round cover with a puller bolt after taking out the discs and actuator, and tightened the nuts to the pint that I was afraid that I was going to break the cover. I dont' have a book on it. I do have a book for the larger models like the 900 and 1000, and those grakes are a lot different. The problem is that transmission oil it coming in along the bull pinion shaft and into the brake housing. I have the seals and need to remove the brake housing to install them.

thanks a bunch, Bud
