My father and I just bought a UB Special. What is the difference between the UB and the Special? Is there a SN designation to seperate them also? What do they weight and what kind of HP? What are they worth? We were told it was a LP converted back to gas. Any comments would be helpful

According to a list I have UBs will have serial numbers starting 0580, 0590, 0600 and diesel versios will be 0690, 0700, or 0780. While UB Specials will be 0970 and 0980 for the diesel. The gas UB Spec. was only built in 55 while the diesels 55-57.
Hope this helps Bryce

Most UBspecials Ihave seen have factory power steering quick change front pedestal ,late style oil pan with filter in pan.If power steering is working properly it is a real plus. Also different style radiator and grill.
