Does any one know if a 1950 ZAU had 6" lights with sealed beams or bulbs ,and if the rings are really a 5 3/4" ? The lights that are on it now are not really a tear drop type as they are not as pointed as the normal ones i"ve seen. The reason i"m asking is i"m in need of a ring for one light and i can"t seem to find a number in the books i have for it ,or whats origanal. The ring is 1" wide and the front of the light is 6". Can any one help on finding a ring for this light. Thank"s

This info from ZA Repair Catalog R-1072D dated Jan. 1952: headlamp JT1360 (7" flat) used thru these serial numbers: ZAU #00604140; ZAS #00700380; ZAN #00800234; ZAE #00900367. Changeover appears to have occurred quite late in the 1950 model year after these serial numbers to headlamp 10A2029 (5 3/4). Hope this helps.

In checking I found that the change from the 7" lights to the 5 3/4" lights occurred during the 1950 model year. So both are correct for a 1950 model depending on your serial number. I do not know at what serial number the change occurred, but when they changed to the 5 3/4 lights they continued to use a reflector and bulb. However, many farmers changed to the sealed beam when it became available because of the superior lighting. If it were my tractor I would fix the lights the most economical way available since all are correct for that model. It would be nice if both lights ar alike, either flat lens or sealed beams.
