I recently purchased 46 UTI with KEF engine it runs good except for acceleration and when you first put a load on it. I rebuilt the carb for other reasons so that has been done. Could it be distributer advance? Weights move freely, maybe to freely. Any suggestions welcome. I also have another dist. that needs springs on the weights anyone know where to get these? Thanks sssss

If you are certain you have all the fuel problems worked out. And I mean certain. I have put kits in carbs and then after checking everything else there was still trash in the carb, a clogged fuel screen, trash in the outlet of the tank...at various times.

And if you are sure the points, wires, plugs and cap are in good order.

Then try a known to be good coil on it. And make sure the ignition wire is on the positive post of the coil.

not certian everything is perfect, triied different coil ,new wires and cap, now have new points and condenser to try. As for carb it does not respond well to adjustment, the rebuild kit said float level should be 1/4 but manual says 5/16 so may try that also. Runs better but something seems to be breaking down under load. Will try different plugs also. thanks for all input.

Was that UTI switched over?...mine has a magneto on it, at times I wish it had a distributor. My first thought was advance weights, maybe too free could be as bad as not moving at all...I would think any auto electric shop could come up with springs
