I need piston rings, gaskets, and exhaust valve seats for a 283 engine in my KTA. Is it correct that the parts are the same as in U's.

I have heard Agco and even Napa carry some parts, is this correct as well?

Any help would be great!

As far as I know, the ring set is the same. To be sure, know what width each ring is and get your parts man to look up the dimensions. I got my last ring set for a U from NAPA, but that was in 2000.

For the exhaust valve seats, you will probably have to have an automotive machine shop install them so just let your machine shop guy order what he thinks he can make work.

For the gaskets, I sure hope you saved your head gasket If its not torn up it can be reused. at one time new ones were about as scarce as hen's teeth and pricey if you found one. All the rest can be made. Some may not be exactly like a MM U.

Allright, that"s good to know about the rings. I guess I was kind of lucky, the head gasket on this old girl was either brass or copper and was in good condition so I did save it.

Anyways, thanks for the help!
