Okay, I am new to MM. My brother-in-law has one and I finally found out that it is a 445. (It has no hood, no sheet metal, basically nothing to identify it but I did finally find the plate with model and SN on it. It is a model B1P which I found to be a 445 according to this site. The SN is 10201563 which I believe makes it a 1957 correct? The engine has a casting of 10A5834B and I believe it is the 206ci gas engine correct? Which would put it at around 40HP correct? I also found that it should have 10 forward and 2 reverse? I only know of 5 forward and 1 reverse. If it does have a high and low range, where is the lever at that switches this? So much to learn! Does anyone know who handles new and used parts for the MM's in the North Dakota area?

Thanks for any and all input!!!!

It sounds like you have pretty much figured it out. Can only add that if it is a 10 speed, the Torque lever will be to the right of the steering wheel and go in the transmission on the right side just behind the clutch housing.
If it is only 5 speed, don't sweat. I'm pretty sure they could be ordered that way and I usually run my jetstars in high range all the time anyway.

I was just curious about the whole 5 or 10 speed thing. What I could find said nothing about a 5 speed so I was curious as to what I was missing. I don't recall a lever right off hand, but I will check tonight again.
