Cam grind question

Whin i start putting my UTS back together, with all the parts from the GB, Would the stock GB cam ,advanced one tooth be better or would it be better to grind the cam?? if so what nunber grind would be best for a first gear puller and would it still need to be advansed one tooth? I am looking for lots of torque and luging power as all the clubes around here pull in first gear. thank you for all the help TR

Vintage Engine Machine Works. Spokane, WA. 1-800-233-6934. Talk to Jack. Also Custom Built Parts out of Algona, Iowa. 515-295-6142. Both did a good job for me. I liked the place in Algona, because they sent me the specs needed to degree your cam. I'm sure there are several other good places around. My opinion on building a puller is that having a good strong puller cam is half the engine. Have fun.

HI TEX. IF YOU WANT LOTS OF TORQUE AND HAVE IT DONE RIGHT THE FIRST TIME, THE BEST THING WOULD BE TO SEND THE CAM IN. TELL THEM THE CUBIC INCH YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE AND THE R.P.M.'S YOU ARE GOING TO RUN. THEY WILL CALCULATE IT OUT AND GRIND YOU ONE HECK OF A PULLER CAM.( OH YA TELL THEM ITS GOING TO BE A PULLER GRIND.) WHEN YOU RE-INSTALL THE CAM YOU CAN DEGREE IT IF YOU WANT TO FIND THE MAX DEGREE. AFTER I PUT THE CAM IN MY 5 STAR I DEGREED IT AND FOUND I HAD TO MOVE IT ONE TOOTH FROM FACTORY. I HAVE SENT FOUR CAMS TO WASHINGTON STATE, AND ONE TO IOWA. I CAN GET THE NAMES IF YOUR INTERESTED. GOOD LUCK.
