Well I might ask first if it's to lose weight to pull or if it has a loader on ? To farm with a wide would be safer on hill and if you have holes in the field, if you want to pull it change it. To change the front end all you need is a front post, they bolt in where the steering arms attatch to the steering shaftwhich is held in with one bolt and a wedge block. take out the four bolt at the back of the axle brace and the front pivot pin and thats it. I was hauling wagons in one day and the one spindle broke on the 602's wide front so I pulled the bolts picked it up with the skid steer thru a post we had with tires on it under the tractor and was back in the feild without missing a wagon. Dad wanted to know where the new tractor came from till he seen the broken spindle.so it will work but should you change it ?

One small addition to Joe's comments:

If you remove the wide front and want to also remove the front mounting clevis for the wide front, you will need to install spacers between the front bulster and the iron cross. These are available from MM parts houses or can be easily made from bar stock. If you leave the clevis on the tractor, it makes a conveint tie-down location when hauling your tractor.
