Oh well it happens..gonna torque er down with new gaskets a little harder this time..say, 150 to 170 ftlbs..Think that will work??Its not a copper gasket, got fire rings..4.8 X 6.125 bore n stroke runnin 4210 heads..Would like to put somthin on the gasket to help seal er up but dont know what to use,got any suggestions?.....STEVE

i have the same but with 4232 heads and i use 670 head gaskets with coppercoat on them torqued
to 175 or 180 and do not have any problems.

All the sealer in the world wont keep a head gasket from blowing out the compression. The fire ring that is crimped in the gasket has to do that. Let me guess you are using the lubbock gasket with the crimped in fire ring right?

Nope,its a gasket with seperate fire rings..I plan on usin a higher torque on the head studs to seal er down..Some people paint,some people use copper coat and some use nothin on the gasket itself..I would like to get an opinion on coatin the gasket if need be....I used a lubbock copper on my cockshutt 50 at 12:1 compression and used the wire around the cyls and that worked good at sealin the compression but still had a small anoyin oil seepage .Thanx...

With what you wrote I have been able to surmize that you should be running around 9.9:1. Have you ran a compression test? And where are you at?
