Hello

I have a MM ZTE with magneto. and i would like to change it to a Distributor, so i bought a distributor through E-bay. when i went to mount it on the tractor the mag drive shaft ends are different..if i got the correct distributor drive shaft. will it work in a motor that was for the magneto? i see the oil pump is hooked on the bottom of the shaft. Any help would be appreciated

In order to use your distribuitor, you will have to have a gear on the oil pump shaft that has 16 teeth and you will have to change the gear on the camshaft to one that has 16 teeth too.

the oil pump shaft on a Magneto tractor turns at crank speed so it will really spin the magnet in the mag. and the camshaft turns at 1/2 speed, the oil pump gear you have has 12 teeth and the cam gear has 24.
