Uni-baler

I have an old Uni with the overhead valve v4 206 engine. I have been using it with a picker sheller attachment. My neighbor has a center feed moline baler pull type. I have a chanch to buy the thing and the question I have is will this baler mount on my uni or what. Someone once told me that the drive is different, so I would need to find a couple of parts off the baler attachment. Does anyone know for sure?

The way I remember the uni baler that my neighbor had years ago was that it had a shaft above the baler for the drive that a pull type like ours did not have. The vertical channel irons extended up higher on the uni model than they did on the pull type to have a place for the bearings and that shaft. It is common channel iron that could be welded on to to convert it and make the rest of it if you had a pattern.
I was told a couple years ago that a former dealer in the Baraboo, Wisconsin area had a number of these change-over kits left over but I never went there to check it out.
I have a friend in Western, Wisconsin that is running one and some other uni things.

I ran a Unitractor with Unibalor as a sprout and have been looking for a balor for my current Unitractor. I have a LC Unihuskor on my Uni now. I have always heard that the Bale Master 760 is the same in the towed version and the Uni version. I have the Repair Catalog for the Unif and Pull Type Balors #R-1197A in front of me and it looks like you have to remove the running gear, PTO assembly, gearbox and clutch and use either belt # 15A12608 or 15A14519 depending on 760 serial number. It drives from the implement drive pulley on you power unit. I have the manual and would copy if you need it. I have several different owner, and parts manuals for the L Unitractor and will look to see if any instructions cover the conversion. Then you could just not bother with it and let me have the 760--probably 1200 miles away. Good Luck, Bear.
