super 4 star questions

I am repainting a super 1960 super 4 star and have some questions. Are the rear wheel weights painted brown or praire gold? They have some brown but mostly red now. I am getting on the short rows with this job and haven't figured out the brake lock mechanism. What does the handle hook to the brake lock and wher does the spring go. I'm not for sure that I have the right spring. This is the first tractor I have worked with that I haven't found one to look at. Thanks for the help, Tommy

I don't know about the weights. I think they were either red or yellow. (Some MM parts were painted on the whim of the paint department and colors varied.) Probably there were some brown weights too. . .

The spring goes between the arm and the tiny hole on the park brake flap. Its only a small spring about 2 or 2-1/2 inches long. It has to be short enough to keep the flap from inadvertently latching the brakes and yet it has to pull the latch down when you flip the lever forward.

Thanks for the reply. That seems too simple I have looked at the parking brake assembly and thought I may have misplaced something. This moline isn't built like anything I have worked on before. It will be a good looking tractor when finished. Again thanks for the reply.

Wheel whaights were probably on an older tractor that had red wheels and someone put them on your 4star and painted them brown to match and it did not stick our jet Star two has yellow waights on it
