hi all, i have fluid coming out of my front steering gear telling me i have bad seals in the piston. am i reading my i.t. maual correctly, install longer bolts in the front steering hub and then drop it down and pull the piston out ot the left? wanna make sure i'm reading this correctly.
also, has anyone ever installed a power steering pump off of a car to run power steering? my hydraulic pump is getting weak and i was thinking if this would work i could elimiate having to get a different hydraulic pump. p.s. does anyone know a good place to get a new or rebuilt radiator?

If your 445 is a utility, that is pretty much how you can take the steering gear apart.

The first problem I see with the auto power steering pump is that at least some of them have relief settings at about twice the pressure that the 445 steering is supposed to work at. I think the old Delco pumps relief opened at about 1100 psi and your 445 was designed to work on only 650-750 psi at the steering valve.

I believe it would be easier and cheap to fix the existing one than fabbing other equipment.most of the required repairs ore seals and O'rings.
