I know of a MM 670 that has a good engine but BAD transmission problems. The "main shaft" as the owner put it, is twisted off. Can this tractor be repaired reasonably, for less than it is worth? How about buying a whole transmission and rear end? Are parts available for these salvage? Tractor is complete and really straight. If he were to decide to sell it, what should he ask? Will that engine fit anything else? I think it is a diesel Should I obtain this tractor and repair it?

Personally, I would fix it! But some folks might not like to hunt for parts and make a job of it. If you decide it is too much to tackle, I"d be interested in hearing what you need out of the old girl. Especially the engine. Is it a Super?

If he decides to sell and you can't use it let us know how to contact him. I'd like to have it for parts.

Thanks for all the responses. I've got a tractor with shiny green paint, and don't know much about MM's. Always wanted a U or and R though. I have personally seen the tractor, and know that they have taken it apart far enough to see what was broken, but I haven't looked inside. They had then partially reassembled to keep the weather out. The tractor looks reasonably decent on the outside. Not sure if it is a "super" or not. The man said that, in his words, "the main shaft" in the transmission is twisted off. I think he said that it had a tourque amplifier that didn't work as well. At this point, I think he is more interested in selling than fixing. I will investigate condition further and post in photo ads if he is serious about selling. Tractor is located in ND. Just wanted to see if there was any interest in it, or if it was good for anything but sale by the pound. Thanks
