If I was to buy an LP Moline (because you can find then so cheap), what is the process of converting to gas? This question applies to about all models if possable.

Before I bought a GTB LP tractor, I never wanted a LP tractor. After I got that one, I wish all my older ones were LP. Advantages are: LP is always fresh, gasoline goes stale and turns to varnish; LP has more power; LP engines never miss a shot; engines last forever and look like new inside; change oil every 300 hours instead of 100. If you want a gas tractor, buy a gasoline tractor and leave the LP tractors for us guys that like them. Years ago I think they were cheaper, now it seems that LP tractors bring more than gasoline tractors.

Why bother, if you want a gas job buy it and sell the LP one to a collector, would be easier, or maybe cheaper, some of the original carburetor parts may be hard to find and make work, getting the vaporizer to fit in there, I wouldn't sell the U we have that is an LP job for any amount of money, just love it, runs great all the time, and if you saw the inside of the engine you would never believe it's original, they just are cleaner and last a lot longer.. Maybe just buy a nurse tank and you may be set,we don't use the old girl much anymore so when it comes time to fill it up next spring going to throw her on the trailer and take her to the propane place and have her filled up for the summer.

Somebody asked the exact same question about a month ago, 1/26/06.

Look up that question and there are quite a few responses, including a lenghty story of my conversion. Hope that helps. I like the way my gasoline filled propane tank looks.

Rowdy there are 4 LP tractors in the family, 2 of mine & 2 of my cousin"s we wouldnt trade any of them for anything else, dont get me wrong I also have gas & diesels, but I am not going to change them from one fuel to another if you are dead set in doing that I cant stop you. If you can, check with an LP supplier to see what the minimum size of tank you would need for them to make it worth it to them to deliver LP to you, most around here would like to see you take 300 gallons. Also if you can find someone to teach the good points of LP & how to use it safely, I know you would like it, just the aroma of the exhaust makes me enjoy LP tractors, I think that the different handling needs of LP is what scares people away from it, the one Case that Dad bought new has been around here for 43 years so I grew up around it & would not give up that tractor for anything. I know getting a tank is an extra expense but I farm & have 1 tank for the house & another for the drying bin so I have that problem covered, as far as my gas tractors go, I am always running to town for gas to put in them, I had a 300 gal tank once & when it went empty I found myself still paying off the fuel account long after the gas was gone, with LP or diesel I have that on hand all the time, just something to think about. I wish all my tractors were LP !!!!!

I would not trade you a gasoline MM for any of my LP MM they are not hard to take care of LP MM where better than any gasoline tractors ever made.

I'd like to find some cheap ones. Don't see many for sale in Oklahoma.

IF you were to find a Jetstar, 4 Star LP, I'd trade you all the gasoline stuff for all the LP stuff.

You can also use the LP tank. You don't have to buy a gasoline tank.

I think all you need is a Carb and a gas tank.

You need more than that. depending on what head it has the compression may be too high for 87 octane gas. the high compression causes detonation. You may have to burn high octane if you want to make that engine last.

Also depending on what model it is you may have to change the intake manifold as well. Because of the carburator forming ice around the carb. and plugging it up.
