Does anyone have any news about the UDLX that was on an auction in Ogilvie, MN, yesterday, Feb. 11th? If so, what was the serial # and condition? Thanks!

The UDLX showed up around noon and was bid up to $80,000 but the owner wanted $100,000. I talked to the owner before the bidding began and I got the impression that he really did not want to sell it. Between the time that he had consigned it and the date of the auction he had second thoughts. He also brought the JTS and it was bid up to $3,250 and he had the high bid! So that did not sell either. There was a 1949 unrestored RTS there that looked like it would run, it brought $1,750. That was reasonable compared to what some of the other stuff brought.

There is one in mint condition for sale advertized in Yesterday tractor phot adds, he is asking $140,000.00. Nice to look at, too rich for my blood, but if your intrested.

I dont know what the JTS went for and the JTU wasn't there. The JTS had older paint and cut off rims on rubber and the top of the ratatior was smashed in but painted over and the fenders were beat up in the cack and rusted through in some spot but the manifold was still good.

I was at the auction the udlx ran but they didnt start it up. It was missing the engine side pannels and the back door and the fenders all around were beat up the bottom front of the grill was cut away everything in the cab was gone like the heater radio and all that other good stuff but it had the orgnial seat and tires. It also had the crome rear hub caps but somebody painted over them. Also you could see alot of orange paint under the praie gold and I read in my minneapolis moline book that minneapolis moline was having a hard time trying to sell the last of the udlx's so they sold them to counties with snow plows on the front of them to plow snow. This udlx was one of the last year made and that is when they sold them to counties so I think this one was sold to a county thats why there was orange paint under the gold and red it also had the bumpper on the front.

I was at the sale and stood behind the guy that bid the $80,000. The bidding started at $50,000 and progressed to $80,000. The bidders stopped at that, but they didn't sell it as they wanted $100,000. As someone else said, the prices were high on a lot of stuff there as there were over 600 bid numbers. The UDLX showed up as someone else said at around noon. I didn't get the serial number. It was missing the motor side panels and the right rear door. Other than that it looked intact. Looked like it had been setting in a shed for a long time. Someone said the engine was stuck which I wouldn't doubt. It looked to have original tires (very weather checked). Looked like someone had painted some parts like the wheels sometime recently. It was still there on the trailer when I left the sale at about 3:00. Roger

I looked over the auction bill a few weeks ago, and after talking to some friends decided that everything there was going to go for much more than it was worth so I never bothered to go, from what I herd from some of the locals that went there were no deals there, as is usually the case now day"s, don"t know how reasnable things went for but sounds like they knew what they wanted for the stuff, I stopped going to auctions when I saw a 47 M Farmall go for 4,500.00, thought they were crazy, the tires were shot and it5 pumped oil out everywhere..

The UDLX was bid up to 80000. They wanted the 100000 so it was not sold. It would need alot of work to make it worth that much money at this time. Thats, of course, my opinion.

That tractor has been on Ebay before and for some reason or another, the seller decided not to sell it. I talked to this auctioneer and the tractor was supposed to be in his yard on Monday and it did not show. Then the seller said it to be there on a trailer for the sale on Saturday. Once again it did not show. The auctioneer told me it had a reserve on it of $100,000 IF it did show though.
Kinda sounds to me like the owner was just fishing to see how many people would make the trip to see how much interest there was in it.

i was there the udlx showed up around noon. it did not sell as the owners price was not met. i wasnt present when they auctioned it so not sure what he wanted or how high the bids went i received conflicting reports as to the highest bid and reserve price

John, a couple of my friends went to the auction to see it sell. The tractor was not there. I don't know if it got sold earlier or somebody changed their mind. It was a consignment auction, hard to say what happenned. Bruce
