Is the Moline U, the same as a W-6,or similiar?
I know it was made about the same time as the W-6,
Is it the same HP,s as the 6, or not as nuch,
or more?
I was contemplating switching to a U, if I could find one in decent cond,
Which is the one with row crop front, and narrow back rim,s?
I think that,s the one I like, or that style,

Actually the MM U when tested at Neb #310, put out 41.67 belt horsepower where the W6 in test #355 only put out 36.15 on the belt. Both tractors were tested on gas so it looks to me that the U was more powerful and weighed a little more at 7,940 as compared to the W6 weight of 7,610. I agree the hand clutch is not as handy as a foot clutch but a row crop MM U is a lot handier than the standard version W6 in MY OPINION. Also a fellow near me had a Farmall M (same engine as W6) and a MM U. He said that when fall plowing got really tough he had to drop one bottom off of the three bottom plow for the M but not so for the U. I was brought up on H's and M's, still have an M and two U's so I feel I know a little about them. The M has been M&W'd but I don't know about the U's but the U's will still out work the M. My OPINIONS from my OBSERVATIONS! Roger

Hi Roger,
Thanks so much for geting back to me so soon,
it,s really tempting to get a U,
I found out on these W-6,s that they are kind of hard to get part,s for, they are similar to an M,
but that,s as far as it goes,
I love the Prarie gold on older Minnie,s too roger,Im just not getting in a hurry though,
thanks again,
and keep in touch,
kirk c,

The MM UTS is roughly equivalent to the International W-6. I believe (but am not certain ) the W-6 has a bit more power. An from my perspective the W-6 is a bit more user-friendly to the operator. However for looks (and for its deeper exhaust note!), I personally prefer the UTS.

The UTU is the row crop - narrow front end - version the UTU. It's roughly equivalent to the row crop Farmall M. (Incidentally the M and W-6 share the same engine). Again the UTU with its hand clutch and somewhat awkward seating position is perhaps not as ergonomic to operate as an M. But it is still a very good tractor!

I have both Farmalls & Molines. I had the "M" Farmall first & started pulling it, met some new friends that had Molines & I just simply fell in love with sound of their engines with a straight pipe. To me there's not a better sounding engine, music to my ears. Since then I now have 3 Molines & two Farmalls. Both makes are very strong running tractors & equally as fun.

I couldn't agree more!

I own a pair of Farmalls (Super H and Super M) and a UTU. All are excellent machines and fun to use.

Hi guy,s ,
what would be a good price for a clean U,row crop,?
Ive seen 1,500 to 3000 for a good redone one,but still looking around,
Ive seen a few on the net, and they were sooo sweet looking I cant tell you wowsie!
decal,s go on one end, but not both,
the MM logo goes on the tank in middle,
& the full moline name goes on the side
of hood above those square cut out,s at least on the U,s I know,But not at both end,s.
Not both decal,s on same tractor. I think your turning me Into a Minnie Freak,
and Not knowing what to do when I see that W-6 out there standing in front of my
2670 Case that Im cleaning up too,
Kirk C,
P,S, What I wouldnt give for a clean G-704 4WD In Prairie Gold. w/ that nice metallic Brown
trim "Ohhh Wowsie!"
