Hi there, I am looking at a Mobile Tow, made by MM. I think it is a model TM-40. Does anyone know anything about these things? How rare is it? It was used for towing aircraft...Thanks for now....

My friend in Lexington, KY still uses one with the automatic, he was looking for info, never found much, haven't talked with him in awhile, his was slipping and the fluid was full and new, don't know if he still uses it. I posted some serial #s on the MM site, might help ID it. John

I've been watching Ebay fairly regularly for 5 years and I haven't seen any MoTow info show up there. There was also an article in the Prairie Gold Rush that indicated that info on a lot of Moline industrial equpment is scarce.

Just for my info, Does the Mobile Tow have a MM engine similar to those in a jetstar, or is it some other make such as Continental? I am under the impression that some had Continental engines.

Also, does it have a manual transmission with clutch or is it automatic with torque converter?
I think the manual models had 2 speeds in each direction.

I think John Grandfield was looking for info on a Mobile Tow that had a torque converter and used a genuine MM 206 or 220 engine. You might get in touch with him. He is a regular on this board.

In my opinion, the ideal Mo Tow to own now would have a manual transmission with a clutch. This would be the combination that would be the most likely to still repair easily.

I found a mobile lift with a 220 engine. The guy said it had a automatic transmision with a high low in foward and reverse. I am trying to buy this unit so I guess I will be taking a chance on the transmision. Thanks Chris
