My MM 445 does not have the original top link for the three point hitch. Can someone measure an original top link for the 445 in the shortest length and longest length. The one I have is too long and I want to know what it is really supposed to be. Thanks.

I forgot to specify which 445 I have. It is a Utility model. This tractor seems to use a shorter Cat II top link than other tractors. I don't know how much shorter it is. I hope someone out there can help me. Thanks.

Greg, take a pipe or bar and put it through the balls on your three point arms. Then set the three point arms so they are aproximately level. Take a 2x4 or something simuliar that you can use as a streight edge, and stand it up vertically so that it touches the pipe or bar that you have inserted through the three point. Then measure the distance from the front of the 2x4 to the pin where the top link hooks to the tractor. This measurement is the length of top link that you need. Keep in mind that you probably need six inches of adjustment so that the top link can be shortened or lengthened. So when you look for a top link, get one that comes close to the measurement that you came up with when the top link is in the middle of its adjustment.
