MM UG Axle Removal Problem

I"ve had a MM UG sitting in my yard for the past three years with a broken axle (#79 0f 100 built). I"ve tried just about everything I can think of to get it out so I can put a new one in. Can anyone tell me if there is a trick to the removal that I am missing? I think the axle splines may have twisted in the bull gear making removal almost impossible. I"d like to get this one moving again to take to a few shows this year. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you.

Just wondering how much you have taken apart?Axle housing off or un bolted because theirs a snap ring on the inner axle bearing that won't let the axel come out of the axle housing. Also when pulling on the axle could it be not pulling square on the bull gear and binding.Just curious.

It's broken off right at the end of the axle housing. I have gone so far as to have a 2" bolt welded onto the end of the axle and fabricated a 1" plate steel puller to pull the axle stub out. So far I have broken two cheater bars, and a 1" impact wrench. We moved the axle about 1/2" through the bull gear. I keep waiting for something too break, but nothing has given up yet.

Where is it broken at? Is it right at the bull gear if it is get the axle houseing off and take the transmission top lid off and remove the bull gear and have the broken peace pressed out.
