I tried a carb from a Ford Jubilee (133 cu in?) on my R (165 cu. in.) and it would not idle properly. It seemed to run fine at load. I also had to slot the holes in the manifold to get it to fit.

My reccommendation is to either find the right carb or fix yours, using somebody else's good parts.

Is that a TSX-36? I've got one that could donate the top half, power nozzle is busted off in the bowl. Wouldn't take much $$$ for me to part with it.

Why not buy a rebuilt carb from this site and or Valve----- --bilt. V-B has them for around $270 and that way you will have what should be on it

Why not send it to Matt @ Motec Engineering, he'll rebuild it for $75.00!!! He does quality work, tests every one, and the price is VERY reasonable. email me if frustrated or confused, John
