Perhaps I should introduce myself to the "regulars" on this forum. I just happened across it recently. I have posted just a few times so far. I live in Iowa and am restoring my first MM. I "grew up" on a UTS LP in Kansas in the 60's/70's. That one was my grandfather's, then my father's then my brother's. My brother traded it in for something or other. The dealer where he traded it in is still in business, so I thought I had a shot at finding it. However, all I found out was that the engine had been taken out of it and the rest sent to scrap. The engine was sold to someone in Nebraska to operate an irrigation pump. He said that these engines were in demand back then. They were durable, powerful and they could place a 500g or 1000g LP tank next to it ane let it run. I bought my current one from a man near Abilene, Ks. It is very similar to my family's U. Have found some transmission trouble, but otherwise, no major mechanical defects. Hopefully I have someone local that can repair the transmission. I am not knowledgeable enough to go inside engines or gears!

Anyway, sorry for the dissertation. Just wanted to introduce myself to some fellow MM enthusiasts, and look forward to corresponding with all of you more in the future.

Hi Gary,

I live in davenport, ia and have a UTU that i pull with. I too grew up on a farm in KS and got started in MM"s when my father and I rebuild the GTB that my grandfather had bought new and used on the farm. if you want to "use" your tractor any when you get it done, i pull in the stock class in our local club and have the only MM at the pulls.

Thanks, Will. I live in Eastern Iowa. I should also mention that I have been amazed at the availability of parts for my tractor. Seems that someone knows how to find just about anything. Sometimes they are a little pricey, but at least they are available.
