I am currently having new gears made for the low side on my ampli-torque.Right now,the sun gear on the high side is 18 teeth and the planet gears are 20.On the low side, the sun gear is 24 teeth and the planets are 14.I am making the low side sun gear 20 teeth and the planets 18.This will give me roughly a 20% reduction when I use the low side as opposed to the almost 50% that I have now.The company making the gears said the biggest expense in making them will be the set up time and that another set would be inexpensive. This new ratio should work out real well for Div.4 when I mis-read the track and have to pull the torque back.Anyone interested can call me at 989 640 4074 or just reply to this post.Marty

Why dont you just get the torque out a late jet star or u302 super with the 28 % reduction. Oh by the way if they dont harden The gears all the way thru they wont last. The factory learned this the hard way.

Chuck, the ratio for the high side(which is slightly overdriven)is 1.11:1(input shaft of trans turns 1.11 times to the engines one rev.)The low side is .58:1(underdriven).If you do the math,it's around a 48% reduction. If you are truely interested in a set of gears, call me on the phone. The company will start making them tomorrow.Three sets are being made so far,so a forth one shouldn't be a problem.I won't be on the computer for a couple days.Marty
