I just got a 445 utility and I am wondering what to use as HYD oil. Someone told me Dextron III others told me multipurpose tractor fluid. What do you guys know? I dont have a service manual yet. Thanks for the help.

Are you going to change fluid, or add. Do you have other tractors that will share the same hyd cyl. Both oils will work in the system, but wouldnt sugest mixing them. If you plan to use the same hyd cyl on another tractor use oil compatable with other unit.

I went to TSC to get ATF for the hydrolics and 80-90 W for the transmission. 335 takes 6 1/2 pints of ATF, 4 gals of 80-90 in main tranny and 2 gals in the ampli-torque. Crankcase takes 8 quarts of 30 W oil. 445 may tke more as it is larger. Have fun with you new tractor. I am with mine. The joys of working with an old tractor. Fixed the hard start on mine with new brushes in the starter.
