U MM clutchwater pump

The clutch in the U is shot. Are rebuilts available? Need a hub&back plate,floating plate, and 2 friction disks. Are new available,or must I check salvage yards? The bushing housing in water pump where impeler seal rides on seems to be wore bad. Are these available new,or look for a good used one? Thanks.

As far as I know linings are probably the only part available new, unless you find some NOS.

I've always had to find salvage replacements for the 'hard' parts in those clutches.

The water pump bushing assy may possibly be re-used if the worn surface can be trued up without removing more than about 1/16" metal. The less metal removed the better. I got a machinist to true my last one up on a surface grinder. I priced one at $125 in '92.

I saw somewhere that the company that originally made MM clutches is still in busines and has clutches try searching this forums history. Or I may have seen it in PGR or MM Corresponder good luck I probably need one in my U should have written it down.
