I am new to the Minneapolis Moline line, but I just bought a little Moline RT Industrial. It needs just a few things, like a starter and generator. I likely will put an alternator on it, but if I was looking to find a starter, would a Model "R" starter be the same starter? Secondly, any ideas on value the value of a gem like this? It is supposed to be running condition, although it currently does not, and tinwork is really pretty good. Good rubber, junk guages, junk lights, junk seat. But aside from the starter, battery, and generator gone, looks complete.

thank you in advance for your input.

I bought an RTI with a stuck motor, factory duals, in the early 90"s. Pulled heads and finally got pistons out without damaging them, re rung eng, rebuilt carb, gov,(idled like an "M"), basically reconditioned tractor. Used tires and rims off duals as as tractor rims and tires were shot. Tractor was sold locally at Everett Bell Estate sale, which was LOADED with M&M collectors. Tractor brought round $1850, dual hubs and hardware sold for $240.

I've been told that 1 of 10 Rs were RTIs, so there are a few out there, they are basically the same as the R, the exception being the short axles, cast wheels, industrial front end, platform, and last but not least, the FOOT clutch. I've got one, use it to rake hay and pull wagons around, very handy for backing wagons, foot clutch, nice tractor to drive.

Yes he does, he sold it to me for $400. I just thought it needed a good home for $400 bucks. I will spend that much again getting it home, and some parts it will need, I might have a cool $1000 in it. Just wanted to know if it was anything truely odd or unusual, I guess it is to me. Dad will have some fun in tractor rides, might even be fun for his grandkids. Just curious if Minne made a few, or a pile of these. I'm not trying to torment anyone on the MM forum page, as so many do, just trying to learn more about what I bought. I have ordered manuals for it, but that doesn't tell all.

Ron, Congrats on the RTI purchase. They make a nice little tractor. I've got 3 of them myself. They are not rare as Moline made over 4300 of them but you don't see them everyday. Check out this website for more info>Link

Yes the starter and generator are the same as on any R tractor. Ron I guess the owner has an idea of what he wants for it?
