It is like the one in the piture. Thanks for your reply. What do you think it might be worth? I can pick one up for around $2000.00, I think it might be worth it. Also since you seem to be knowlegeable on MM's, I also can pick up a good UTU but the guy wants me to make him an offer. What do you think they are worth? It is in pretty good condition. Thanks, John.

I have never seen production dates or serial numbers for Mobile-Tows, but in a conversation with a fellow at a machine shop, who happened to recognize my Z connecting rods, I gathered that at least a few were built with the Z series engines.

His story was an involved tale about making a center main support that fit a RE or EE block. He ran an 'outlaw' foundry and had a pretty good knowledge of the construction of the small MM (R or Z) crankcase (never saw mine) so his tale could at least be plausable. The Mo-Tow in question was supposed to be at a nearby airport.

Can anyone verify this?

I believe it is really much newer than that. "WWII" if I am thinking correctly the "mobile tow or tow truck" was between 1961 and 1967. If you post a serial number on off the engine or chassis myself or someone can peg the year. Questions on price "or what it is worth" are always hard to answer. I seen one sell near me a last winter and it brought 2700.00 and was missing a carburator other wish ran and was in good condition with good tires and good paint. Those little critters are heavy too. What all is wrong or right about the one you are looking at and the pros & cons too. Does it run, are the tires good, is it missing anything, hows the paint, it it does run does it need over hauled and mech. sound. Those 220m's can be hard to get parts for! I am not sure if the 220a and 220b military engines are the same as tractors are but pretty sure they are. Pros is you don't see all that many at shows! Cons is it can only be used for is towing a plane or maybe a wagon. I would really think though in my unprofessional opinion it is worth the 2000.00 for it and UTU's no matter what shape those are in, are a dime a dozen here in the mid west and top dollar can,t be much more than 1800.00 at best. If you would like to chat more about this off board please feel free to email me.

Don't know what they are worth. The sky is probably the limit.

There used to be one listed on a 4 wheel drive website and all I know is to just do a google or Dogpile search for Minneapolis-Moline NTX.

Or is it the 6 wheeled job that has dual wheels on one back axle with the small 220m in it called a Mobile Tow I believe?
