Hydraulic cavity drain plug.drilled and tapped.445

i drained the hydraulic fluid from the pump cavity to adjust the valves for the loader system and noticed that the drain plug was drilled and tapped with a hardened 1/4 in stud about 6 inches long and rounded on the end and a screwdriver slot on the other it is secure in the dain plug by a lock nut..you can run this in pertty far but it hits something in the housing.as if to adjust something..doesnt look to be a hand made 1/4 in threaded rod. looks real as if its to do something..about 3/4 on an inch sticks out of the drain plug when installed.any ideas on what the previous owner has done? at first i thought it was to aid in the draining of the fluid farther away from the casting..but this doesnt seem to really aid in doing that..my book doesnt show anything like that...this was done after the fact for some reason..thanks gregg

in my manual it shows it in some pics but not others..and i see what it does..put it back in..roger wilco...holds in the pressure tube..thanks gregg

My 445 has the same thing and thus the other discussion about a parts book. I have no parts book that refers to this part.

That rod holds an internal fitting in place. Its factory. Put it back.

The tube that conveys oil from the pump to the control valve only has o-rings on it, the only thing that keeps it in its hole in the reservoir is that threaded rod pressing from the side.
