I have a 1950 RTU that i need to split to replace the fly wheel ring gear,Im getting tired of crankin it to find the sweet spot so the starter will catch.Does anyone have any helpful hints so I dont get in a pickle?I do have a new fly wheel that i got from a parts machine that i have ,which came apart rather hard.i am planning on having it turned before I install it. Thanks folks..Pete

If you split a parts tractor you know what's involved. Some split easy, some split pretty hard. Be sure to check the slip ring on the clutch (It has the ears the shift yoke goes on.) on the clutch while its apart. And of course check your linings.

Just split a Z and they are alike. After the hood was removed I blocked the rear half and supported the front of the rear half with blocks. Hooked my cherry picker to the front half and moved it forward. It all wrenching from there.
