How does the fuel usage of the M670&G1000 compare to other tractors the same HP? (red,green,orange) Keith

We had 3 G-1000 Vista Diesels that we used for heavy tillage in their days. (We still have them) If you pulled them hard and we did, they would use 8 gallons of diesel per hour. You could just about set your clock by it. We were pulling 6 and 7 bottom 16" plows with packers and 24' cultivator with harrows. I think thats more than the competition burned but these were always lugging. You would have to compare them to a 5020 JD to get more power. We put 5000 hours on the first one before we overhauled it. The rear ends have never been touched. Only a clutch.

You do not say what fuel type. I have a 1966 M670 Super Diesel that is very economical. The fuel tank holds 40 gallons and I can easily cultivate for 2 days with an 8 row 30" cultivator on one tankful. Also pull a 650 gal. sprayer with 60' boom and can go 3 - 4 days on a tankful. I do not think a JD 3020 or IHC 706 could do any better.
