I have been researching in this forum on whether a single cast cylinder head from an old U will work ok if I put it on my KTA. The subject has been kicked around, but I can't seem to get a solid answer from the posts.

Maybe Kelvin or some other MM guru's can help me.

Thank-you for the help. The KTA needs some top end work and I just wanted to make sure a U's head would work out ok.

Thanks again.

I know that there are at least 4 different versions of the single head. They will all interchange. They seem to crack along the bolt holes under the rocker arms. Mike

Paul, I don't think Kelvin will be able to reply for a few days because he lives down there in the Carolina's and they had that bad ice storm and thousands of people are without power at this time.

The real reason i didn't reply is I've been spending all my time this weekend either celebrating Christmas with different folks or with my girlfriend. (At least she doesn't hate tractors.)

We didn't get ice right here where I live-just a seriously cold rain.

I didn't know the answer to your question.
