THANKS FOR YOUR HELP. THE NUMBERS I FOUND WERE ON THE ENGINE RT SIDE THEY WERE 1XB3SL AND 3-1/4 4X4 AND 2467112 AND 008 006. I WILL CHECK FRAME FOR NUMBER TONIGHT WHEN GET HOME. IT MAY NOT BE A MM BF . I FOUND A PICTURE OF A BF THAT LOOKS LIKE IT. I HAVE GREEN TRACTORS AND KNOW LITTLE ABOUT GOLD TRACTORS

Jack,
To use as few words as possible, the basic tractor started as a Cletrac "General", then B.F. Avery Model "A". In the early '50s Avery and MM merged. It was decided to retain the B.F. Avery model "R", but MM already had a model "R". So, it was painted yellow and called a "BF".
A soft bound book named "B.F. Avery" by Luther D. Thomas, published by Antique Power (ISBN 0-9660751-4-5)gives detal.
