Rear Z Rims

I am working on restoring my 46 ZTN. I was removing the rear wheels in order to remove and old weights and put my new tires on. I discovered the rims are different. They both are the pressed steel rims. They are not the cast rims of early R, Z or U years. However, 1 rim has a cast center welded into the pressed steel rim. Looks factory done. Even the lug bolts on that side are different. Apparently, one of the rims were replaced. I would guess early on. If I were to replace one, which one is the original rim? Tractor Junky Jer

One cast and one press steel is what you should have. This is the way MM set up Z,s.

I don't recall ever seeing or hearing a Z with mismatched wheels, either factory or dealer.

I think the pressed steel wheel with the 9-bolt hub is probably correct for your '46 ZTU. It may or may not have gaps between the pressed center and the rim as some were solid connetion all the way around and some had gaps.
