My father inlaw is looking at a Minneapolis moline UBU 1953 and the gentlemen wants $2,250.00 for it. The tractor has weather cracked tires about half worn down ,but hold air.
The tractor does run ,but will need a rebuild soon, all parts are there as far as he can tell. I only payed $600.00 for mine (1954 UBU with a E front end on it and newer tires, but had to be rebuilt ,rewired, painted, and front knuckles replaced.) I thought that $2,250.00 was a bit on the high side for the UBU he is looking at. I think that $1,500.00 is a fare price and on the high side at that. What does every body else have to say about the price of the tractor on what it is worth? Thank"s

Hi, I have seen local adds for UBs this past week , a couple were asking $2200 and one $1500. People want UBs, a plain U bring will bring about half.

BMG is right. I gace $850 for one running oil-burning rusty UB and $1350 for one with new tires, good engine, and a new Swartz wide front end. I would not pay over $1750 for a near perfect original.

I agree, that seems quite high for a UB. I've seen 4 Stars and M5's in that price range.

Mike,
I paid $1200 for a 53 UBU gas 4 years ago. Runs like a top, original paint with some rust, straight metal but grill dented/pushed in, Behlen add on power steering. Tires 75% and weather checked on rear, fronts barely hold air. I considered what I paid to be a fair price. $2250 is just too much. I'd pass and keep looking for a better one.
